Kogin needle work and me

◆The opportunity when I began Kogin Needlework

From childhood, I liked geometric patterns.

It was time of the supreme bliss that it was small and painted carefully and divided while watching neighboring balance using various colors by the drawing for coloring of the overseas stained glass pattern that my father bought.

I am interested in contemporary art and crafts before long and enter College of Arts.
After graduation, I came across Kogin Needlework for the first time in crafts gallery of Nihonbashi in early autumn, 2010 that passed for a while.

It was a modern work, but went to learn it from intuition immediately when "it should be possible for different how to put out to be oneself" at the same time to look for it for many years if the mind that was able to meet the thing which I could be devoted to which I was looking for was belonging to it.

I come across old piece of work in The Japan Folk Crafts Museum, and I continue being attracted by constitution and overwhelming geometrical pattern and reach it afterwards in now.

I want to do expression for me while following a tradition.

I am cool to a base in the minute world that geometric patterns of Kogin Needlework weaves, and the fear wants to sometimes come and go by expression feeling across a field.
